Fournier's gangrene is a rare and often fulminant necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum and genital region frequently due to a synergistic polymicrobial infection. This truly emergent condition is typically seen in elderly, diabetic, or otherwise immune-compromised individuals. Here, we report an unusual case of Fournier's gangrene due to excessive masturbation in an otherwise healthy 29-year. A 51-year-old diabetic man diagnosed with prostatic abscess underwent its drainage twice. Following surgery he developed fever and right-sided painless visual loss due to endophthalmitis. To rule out its endogenous source CT scan was done which showed multisystem aetiology and complications. His pelvic CT and CT cystogram revealed postsurgical urethral injury along with urinary extravasation. ª Springer Science+Business Media, LLC 2011 Abdom Imaging (2013) 38:1467 Published online: 24 February 2011 DOI: 10.1007/s00261-011-9701-5 Abdominal Imaging ERRATUM Erratum to: Fournier's gangrene: a radiologic emergency ´ ´ ´ Tatiana Piedra, Eva Ruız, Francisco Jose Gonzalez, Javier Arnaiz, Pedro Lastra, Gerardo Lo ´ pez-Rasines Department of Radiology, Hospital Universitario Marque.
